Return to Pangaea: Has the Pendulum Swung Back?

Pangaea  was the super-continent that presumably existed during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras about 250 million years ago, before it split into the current configuration. The name was coined in the scientific discussion of Alfred Wegener’s theory of the Continental drift.

Although the 6.8 people that inhabit planet earth do not live geographically on one super-continent I believe we have returned to Pangaea on a different level thanks to technological advances, human evolution and unfulfilled idealism.
